To set up your subscriptions on your Plezi, go here!

What is a subscription?

Subscriptions allow you to create a mailing list to which your contacts subscribe: the most classic example is your newsletter, or you can decide, like us, to subscribe your customers to a "Plezi Information" subscription to send them a personalised message when your product is updated.

Within Plezi, the subscription is a multiple choice field (similar to the "interests" field) which must be filled in to add one of your contacts to your corresponding mailing list.

To add "Subscriptions", 2 ways:

  1. Go to "Configuration > Subscriptions" and add a subscription;

  2. Newsletter: you must create it in your "Automation" tab. This creation will automatically update the "Subscriptions" page.

There are 4 possible ways for your contacts to subscribe to one of your mailing lists:

  • Automatically (= you decide this), during an import;

  • Automatically, as soon as a contact fills in a form;

  • f you have several subscription suggestions;

  • If you want to pre-check a subscription.

  1. Automatically subscribe your contacts, when importing

You import into Plezi your contacts, who have requested to receive your newsletter.

  1. Once your newsletter is created, add a "Subscription" column to your import file;

  2. Fill in all the cells in this column with the name of your newsletter;

  3. Make your import

All the contacts whose subscription field is completed will be in the corresponding mailing list. In this case, they will receive your newsletter as soon as it is active.

2. Choosing to subscribe a contact, after they have submitted a form

You want to subscribe all contacts who fill in a form to your newsletter:

  1. Once your newsletter is created, go to your form workflow;

  2. Choose to subscribe!

  3. Game on!

This is obviously the best practice for managing your newsletter subscription form (if you only offer one). You can also apply it to all your other forms.

3. Propose a choice among several possible subscriptions

You wish to propose a subscription to several mailing lists to all the contacts who fill in a form:

  1. Create your subscriptions in "Configuration" > "Subscriptions".Attention, the subscription to the newsletter is done automatically when creating this newsletter in the "Automation" menu

  2. Go to the chosen form template, "Fields" tab;

  3. Add the "Subscription" field

Your visitors will be able to choose the desired subscriptions. This choice will automatically update the "Subscription" field of the contact.

4. If you want to pre-check a subscription

You want to offer a subscription to one or more mailing lists to all contacts who fill in a form, but you want to pre-check at least one.

  1. Create your subscriptions in "Configuration" > "Subscriptions". Note that the newsletter subscription is automatically created when the newsletter is created in the "Automation" menu

  2. Go to the chosen form template, "Fields" tab;

  3. Add the "Subscriptions" field;

  4. Enter the options of this field and click on "Default values": choose the subscription(s) to be checked;

  5. Your visitors will be able to choose the desired subscriptions. This choice will automatically update the "Subscription" field of the contact.

Good to know!

  • The prior agreement of a contact is not required in B2B (unlike B2C), but they must nevertheless be informed and be able to unsubscribe (e.g. via the unsubscribe link in your emails); The RGPD has left things as they are (in B2B only) although the practice we recommend is to validate the agreement with your prospect.

  • A subscription does not automatically create a contact list. To send an email campaign to these contacts, you need to create a contact list including the "Subscription" field and the chosen value.

  • For the newsletter, there is no need to create a contact list: it is automatically set up in your newsletter... unless you want to be able to download the list of your subscribers.

  • The subscriptions you have on Plezi are visible to your contacts when they click on the unsubscribe link. If you want to hide a subscription from the subscription management page, go to its edit and uncheck the box "Show this subscription on the unsubscribe page".
